If you purchased from a gray market source, like eBay, you won't be able to acquire technical support. Hopefully you purchased your unit from an Olympus certified reseller. Only the reseller can supply direct support for the Olympus professional line of dictation equipment. Strange as it sounds, you are not permitted to contact Olympus directly. The bad news is that we haven't a clue how to fix this but if you contact your reseller directly, they can get in touch with Olympus support and come up with an answer by virtually connecting to your computer. An update on the DS-7000 software would not help with this issue. Having said that, we suspect that the Mac OS may be recognizing your digital recorder as an external hard drive rather than a recorder. While we sell the DS-7000 recorder, unfortunately, we have very little Mac knowledge because we don't work with the Mac OS. Welcome to the World's Most Popular Speech Recognition Forum
